Who this page is for
This page explains how to delete your Sonsoto account and the personal data linked to it. It applies to the Sonsoto website and the Sonsoto mobile app.
Delete your account in the app
- Open the Sonsoto app and sign in.
- Go to "Settings" and tap "Delete my account".
- Tap "Request deletion" to confirm. The same screen then shows that your request has been received.
Request deletion on the web
You do not need the app installed. Sign in on this page with the email address on your account, then choose "Request deletion" above.
If you can no longer sign in, email privacy@sonsoto.com from the address on your account with the subject "Delete my account". We may ask you to confirm your identity before we act on the request.
What happens after you ask
We record your request straight away and work through it. Your account keeps working until we close it, and you can ask us how far it has got at any time.
When we complete the request, we close your account and remove the personal data we hold about you that we are not required to keep, including:
- your sign-in access and account profile;
- your contact details and communication preferences;
- your conversations with our advisor, except where they form part of a service record we must keep.
What we keep, and for how long
Some records must be kept after your account is closed because the law requires it. These include identity and due-diligence (KYC) records, the documents you uploaded for a service, filings made on your behalf, invoices and payment records, and the audit trail of actions on your file.
We keep these records for the period set by the anti-money-laundering, tax and company laws of the country where we provided the service, and then delete, anonymise or archive them in line with our retention practices. While we hold them, they are used for nothing else.
